The Beach women kicked the weekend off by playing Friday night in Mississauga against the Blues but it was clear to see the Beach was not going to lose. Their defensive structure was airtight and attacked breakdowns constantly keeping the Blues under pressure. Turnovers were quickly converted into attacking opportunities and we capitalized everytime. At the final whistle, the scoreboard was tilted in our favour 58-13.
The ORU 1st XV were up in Brantford against the 2025 McCormick Cup champs. Never an easy game, especially after that 1.5 hour drive. The reigning champs delivered a dominant performance by showing why they are still the team to beat, imposing their game plan with precision and physicality. The Beach were competitive in stretches but were unable to contain the champion’s attacking threats with the Quins consistently finding gaps and converting their opportunities. Final score 68-33.
The Beach 2XV came out with plenty of energy and competed strongly for large stretches of the game, but a handful of costly mistakes proved to be the difference. Each time the Beach gave the Harlequins an opening, the Quins made them pay and converted those errors into unanswered runs that steadily built an insurmountable lead. Final score 29-19
