Beach vs the Barbs
Beach takes charge early, especially for the opening 10 min but disaster strikes as the barbs intercept inside the ten and the scoring! The barbs are sparked and the Beach struggle to recover. The game changes perhaps on a play by Simon Rodgers feet! Not with his usually terrific kicking but by some nifty footwork under our post to avoid a not releasing penalty. Beach perseverance and near the end of time a Haydn try and Rodgers conversion give us a narrow lead. A score at the buzzer salts it. Word has it that the monogram (G.F.Y.) sewn into each players shirt brought the winning edge!
