Al Quance – Over the weekend I received word that our brother Al Quance has passed away. His passing is a loss for the Beach family, but his legacy is woven into the club’s history and spirit. May he be remembered with respect, gratitude and a smile for the stories he leaves behind. Please put him in your thoughts. I will pass on any further details as soon as I receive them.

Some great rugby was played this weekend but not all games resulted in a Ws for the blue and gold.

The women were on the road again today last weekend against Brock RFC.  The women dominated from the opening whistle against a much younger and inexperienced team.  Showing that they can score at will while playing great defense, the women roll to an easy win 41-14.

The TRU Men made their way to Belleville and played a very tough side.  Unfortunate knock ons and some lapses in defense made it difficult for our men to get any enough momentum on their side.  A tough loss 12-26

ORU III no game to report.  Waterloo 20 – Beach 0

Beach 2s delivered a momentum swinging battle that ended in a hard earned 24-24 draw.  A result that felt equal parts satisfying and frustrating for both sides.  A draw isnt the finish we were looking for but the performance showed character, depth and plenty  to build on heading into next week.

The Beach 1s took on a very tough Waterloo side next.  Unfortunately our men walked off the field with the scoreboard tilted heavily against them, but the story of this match was a lot bigger than the numbers.  Waterloo and their supporters came in firing on all cylinders with clinical finishes, pace and momentum swings that broke the game open.  We showed a lot of character, resilience and pride but took an L on this day 29 – 64

The Balmy Beach Old Boys (BBOBs) played on Sunday against the Niagara Old Boys (NOBS) at home.  The NOBS did not have a full side to start the game and borrowed a couple of Beach players throughout the game.  The Beach showed their magic with some great defense, big hits and moved the ball to exploit overlaps.  A runaway game for the good guys 35-20
