Action last week
Field Opening – Alright, the pitch is now sorta official! Weather cooperates, great crowd, terrific Jr action at the interval between games! This pitch is definitely an upgrade! Somehow Burlington did not get the cooperation message. Two very close games. Both physical, lots of action and entertaining. Results not so much. Beach 2’s go down at the gun, 24-22 while Beach 1’s just short in a valiant comeback, losing 40-33. Beach 1’s finish season in 4th in West Div. while Beach 2’s finish in 2nd.
McCormick Cup – I have had little luck in communication with RO re Cup. This is not gospel but my understanding > Top 4 teams in each div qualify for Cup. 1st and 4th in each div crosssover in roundrobin competition with 2 best in Cup final Oct 19. My configuration has Beach 1 vs Irish on Sept 21 at Fletcher’s??? We may stand corrected?
Gee Gage Cup – No response from RO re explanation but website has Beach 2’s vs Bay St at Sunnybrook on Sept 28???

If you know any former players that are not on the list, please forward this note to them. We are putting together a slide show, so if anyone has pictures, etc. from the past, please let me know or scan them to me. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them. Request from Huggy! I’m writing to ask for your help by reaching out to your connections on my behalf to inquire about potential paid co-op job opportunities. Currently, I’m searching for a co-op job as a Business Analyst, or similar role with a September 2019 start date. My preference would be an employer within the technology sector or within the technology functional area of a company. I realize that you do not have technology backgrounds but you might have a friend, family member or other connection who does.
I’ve been following your weekly e-mails but haven’t managed to attend a Beach home game yet because I have a Saturday morning class at George Brown College that carries over into the early afternoon.
I’m writing to reach out to the Balmy Beach RFC Alumni for their help. Currently, I’m completing a post-graduate certificate in Information Systems Business Analysis and am required to complete a paid co-op internship.
My goal is to secure a co-op job that is directly or indirectly related to business analysis. The roles in the job postings by my co-op coordinator have been fairly diverse. Mostly, they require using analytical and problem solving, decision making, time management, verbal and written communication, teamwork skills, etc.
I’m searching for a co-op internship to commence this September. To date, I’ve applied to just over 20 positions and have not received a response from an employer for an interview. I’m hoping that there’s someone from the alumni who may know someone who knows someone, etc. that has a suitable employment opportunity within their company. There is a provincial tax credit available to businesses up to a maximum of $3,000.
Thank you! Cheers,
Huggy – Up the Beach!!!
