Message from Hank McQueen – As many of us at the Beach know, one of our own, Mattia Trinier, was diagnosed with brain cancer late last year.

In trying to do something positive with this bad news, I had registered for the Ride to Conquer Cancer in BC. Fundraising went well, so I’ve decided to try and raise more funds by signing up for the Ride in Toronto supporting the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Between the two rides, this will mean over 400km on the bike for a second row.

We have all had our stories and run-ins with this disease, and I hope we can continue to support research and clinicians to and improve patient outcomes. I lost my own mother to cancer over 10 years ago, and would quite simply like the disease to leave our families and friends alone!

I was hoping you might share this with the Beach Rugby Alumni, given the strong connection to the club.

Thanks for the support and Up the Beach!
